Loquat trees
Loquat trees produce small yellow fruits that are sweet and juicy with seeds in the center. The trees are evergreen tropical plants that grow easily. Plant in the full sun when located near the coast or in areas with mild summers. Plant where young trees receive morning sun and afternoon shade to prevent the leaves from burning in the Summer.
Since newly planted trees have not established roots yet, they should be watered once or twice a week until established. The leaves are very large and can grow tall to provide shade. Great for mediterranean landscapes and one of the few fruit trees that does not lose its leaves in the winter. Prune to any shape or size. Few pests affect loquat trees. Grow as a small shrub or medium to large tree. Although some call this plant Azgil or Japanese plum. In fact, Jujube trees grow wildly as many birds tend to eat the fruit and drop the seeds.
